Archive for February, 2010

I can’t believe I am the mom of a four-year-old and a two-year-old.  It seems that since they were born, life has been in fast-forward mode, and I hear that it doesn’t slow down.  Sigh.  I try to enjoy the everyday moments with them (even though there are certainly days I’d rather forget), and of course, to take lots of pictures of these days.  Even though they are not truly babies anymore, they’ll always be my babies, and I am so thankful to have them both in my life.  I’ll try to be good about posting some of our “everyday” images, more for myself than for anyone else.  They recently had birthdays within a few weeks of each other, and I wanted to share some images both of their birthdays, and just of them.  They are such unique little guys, and I look forward to seeing them grow, even though my heart wishes they’d just stay little.

Here’s Wyatt about to blow out the candle on his Cookie Monster cupcakes.

My sweet little Wy.  I’ve been playing around with some textures, and this one is a test image.  I like how it has that aged feel to it.

Austin’s awesome Spider-Man cake that my friend Andrea made…seriously, she must be so patient to have made that thing.

Austin’s antics with the birthday hat during his party.  Notice the superhero cape, which he would not remove.

I love this: he blew that candle out full-force!  :)

My big, handsome boy.  Yes, this is kind of a cheesy smile, but I love it.

blond beauties

February 26, 2010

I was recently given the opportunity to photograph the two kids of one of my dearest friends.  They are precious and I couldn’t wait to do it.  Unfortunately, it’s been so cold and nasty here that it’s been hard to do any sessions outside.  Thankfully, my house has a lot of great window light and with my black backdrop, voila!  Some beautiful portraits and no need to freeze our buns off!  I love these kiddos!  They enjoyed the leftover balloons from Austin’s birthday party, as you can see.

Are you kidding me with her eyes?  I swear I did not do anything special to them.

What a little beauty this girl is!

Mama even got in on this one!  :)   She is always playing with them like this…so cute.

Okay, off to bed, hopefully I can post more tomorrow!

first steps!

February 22, 2010

A week or so ago, we had our son Austin’s FOURTH birthday party at our house (how is he already four years old?!).  We hosted several 3- & 4-year-olds, much to Austin’s delight.  It was a lot of fun, and I will blog about our two boys’ birthdays soon, but I wanted to do a quick post about our sweet little godson.  His parents came to help us with the party (their older son was one of the “big kids” there), and they brought the little guy, too.  He was about to turn one year old in a few days, and he decided to bust out some of his first steps for me to capture!  His mommy and I were thrilled that, in the midst of the chaos, he walked a good distance in our dining room and into the kitchen area.  I happened to have my camera in hand, and captured the following pictures.  How fun to be there for some of his first steps!  We love this little guy, and can’t believe he’s already one!  Way to go, little buddy!  We love you!

hello, new blog!

February 21, 2010

So, I am finally getting this new blog online.  I must say, this decision to make a new web site and blog was a big one, but now that I look back, I am glad I took the plunge!

Here are some photos from a recent shoot with one of my favorite little guys.  I shot his newborn and six month pictures (Parents, contact me for info on the “as they grow” program!  You get discounts for three sessions within a year, and a fun keepsake photo book when it’s all done.), and this was our last session together for a while.  He turned one and was running all over the place.  I am sad that I now have to wait until he is two to take his pictures again, but I am looking forward to it already!  Until next time, little CG!

I love this one!

I adore these, but this one is especially sweet to me!

Love that smile!

He found our little slide and had some fun!

Precious.  And I totally love that he’s rockin’ the Chuck Taylors!  :)

Until next time,
