They met at church, became good friends, and enjoyed being around each other. After a while, Jon asked Ashleigh out a few times, but she didn’t feel that was where they were headed. When a friend suggested that Ashleigh go out with Jon, she replied that she just wasn’t interested; however, she decided to think and pray about whether or not he was a guy she should seek out romantically. Finally, Ashleigh decided he was an amazing guy, and why not see if there was a spark? So she informed Jon that she was ready to go on a date…and he proceeded to tell her that he was not sure he was still interested! Ah, the confusion of dating. Thankfully, he didn’t take long to come to his senses, and since their first date to the Colorado Opera, there has been no turning back for these two.
Ashleigh and Jon are awesome : super fun, kind and thoughtful. They love with their whole hearts and it shows. I am so honored and thankful to have been a part of their gorgeous wedding on Saturday. The entire wedding party was so fun (willing to do silly things) and made my job so easy. This wedding was extra special for me because my talented friend Kiera flew in from Indianapolis to assist me. She and I had a great time running Jon, Ashleigh, and their friends all over downtown and City Park to get some cool photos. She also helped me put together the rad slide show at the end of this post…something that I hope to incorporate in all my wedding blog posts from now on. Please excuse the fact that it starts playing music (the song they had their first dance to) automatically – I am still working out kinks! Just hit pause if it’s annoying.
Ashleigh and Jon, thanks again for allowing us to document your day – it was amazing! Here’s to many happy years of marriage!
As you can see, I had a very hard time narrowing down the photos, so here is my longest blog post yet. Enjoy!
loved her shoes & flowers

one of my faves right here:

yep, I think the blue dumpster will work juuuust fine for a background, thankyouverymuch.

one of Kiera’s fab shots:

these ladies know how to work it…in an alley!

this girl is just gorgeous!

wind + blue dumpster = amazing art!

Love.this. They were so fun!

the reception was at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, and we wandered down into some lilac bushes in City Park. The light was perfect, and I just love these next photos.

Left is my photo taken with the 50mm, right is Kiera’s longer lens shot of the same moments – awesome!

It was a stunning sunset!

Their first dance was so cool (a choreographed fox-trot) – they sang every word of the Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat song, “Lucky” to each other. It was precious. I *love* the light in this shot – it was from the videographer’s camera.

One last shot: as we walked into the museum when we finished photos, here is the reflection of the sky in the side of the building.

Love, miss g

This is my childhood friend and we haven’t been in contact for many years. Thanks for the little story at the beginning of the post! Wonderful shots
