about miss g
February 16, 2010Why the name “miss g?”
It is a nickname that a good friend’s parents gave me as a child. I love it and it evokes for me a time of innocence, joy and fun. It is that same fun and joyful spirit that I bring with me to every photo session I shoot. It is my passion to capture the most important moments in life for my clients, be it a newborn’s tiny yawn, speckles of light in the big eyes of a two-year-old, or a couple’s first kiss in wedded bliss. I believe life is a beautiful gift, and my goal and is to capture that beauty for all to see.
Who am I?
- A 2004 graduate of the Art Institute of Colorado with a degree in Photography.
- A follower of Christ who is constantly amazed by the Lord’s grace, love, and guidance.
- A wife to a wonderfully supportive husband (I really hit the jackpot, as he is not only great looking, but my best friend and greatest encourager. I love him so much more today than I did 8 and a half years ago when we married).
- A mom to two crazy, adorable boys (my house is LOUD and far from perfect thanks to them!), ages four and two, who are my lighthearted inspiration.
- A a daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, and sister-in-law to some of the coolest, most wonderful people on the planet (I really adore my family!).
- A chocolate lover (seriously…I have a problem! Especially DARK chocolate).
- A runner (I feel I’ve missed out on something if I can’t fit a run or somethig else active into my day).
- A nature lover (a good long hike or weekend in the mountains rejuvenates me like nothing else).
- A food lover (I love good food with a great glass of wine…but I also love eating peanut butter by the spoonful!).
- A lover of art and design, especially mid-century modern architecture and design (maybe someday we can own our own “real” modern home…a girl can dream!).
- A lover of bold colors (when we first moved to our current house, we had a room painted almost every color: red, tan, gray, orange, yellow, blue, green. Seriously. Needless to say, we did some re-painting and I tamed myself a bit).
- A freak of nature who can do stupid human tricks (I have ridiculously flexible joints, and can therefore twist my arms in scary ways! It’s just not right).
- A laugher (I love to laugh out loud, and do so as often as possible! Lately watching the show “Modern Family” has elicited many a loud laugh from me).
