{Beautiful Belly} Carissa

March 27, 2012

Our dear friends visited a couple of weekends ago, and we had a great time with them.  Our kids all played together so well, and I think my little Wyatt may have his first crush on their daughter.  :)   Though we were crazy with five rowdy kids, we managed to fit in a five minute mini belly shoot of Carissa – she is expecting their #3 this summer.  Hooray for impromptu shoots!  Here are a few shots of my beautiful friend and her kiddos.

Such a cute little belly!

Love,

Hello to all my blog followers (all two of you – hi, Mom!)!

My apologies for the lack of posts recently.  Between a cruel winter when someone at my house was sick nearly every day since the beginning of December and the busy life of a mom of three, as well as photo shoots and editing, my blog updates fell by the wayside…but I figure it is time to start up again and revamp my business…watch for a new logo and a fresh look to my web site soon.  And what better subject to blog on than a fabulous recent learning experience I had?

I had the pleasure of traveling a little over a week ago to the studio of the AMAZING Kelley Ryden just outside of Omaha, NE.  She is one of the top newborn photographers in the country (and world!).  I have been adding more baby posing to my newborn sessions (but never fear, I will always offer my more photojournalistic-style shooting, too), and figured it couldn’t hurt to learn from the BEST about ways I can improve, so I signed up for her workshop.  She did not disappoint.  I was so impressed by her ability to calm and pose the newborns (along with her equally impressive sister, Tracy).  A few people have called me the “Baby Whisperer” after watching me in action with newborns, but these two really are amazing.  I hope I can get to their caliber of baby whispering some day.  :)

It was an awesome, overwhelming, super informative day.  Without further ado, here are some photos I took of the two SWEETIES we photographed that day.

Oh, so much fun!

Love,

miss g

My little girl

June 23, 2011

My sweet little girl is already five months old…it is going way too fast!

I love the drool on her chin here.

My sweet baby!

Just had to share!

Love,

miss g

I’ve done many newborn shoots that I haven’t had the time to blog yet, so I thought I’d get the ball rolling with this one!  This sweet little girl and her super cool parents came to my “studio” for the shoot, and we all had a great time.  Little Annabelle wasn’t tired at all in the beginning, so I got some photos of her big, beautiful eyes.  Once she fell asleep, she was amazingly pose-able!  :)   I just love being able to capture sweet little ones like this!!

Enjoy!

Her mama made this pretty quilt for her!

I loved this shoot!  I shot Rachel and Andrew’s wedding in December of 2008, and I was thrilled to hear earlier this year that they’re expecting their first baby.  Rachel is a runner like me, and it has been fun talking to her about running through pregnancy, as well as other pregnancy issues.  :)   We had a great time a few weeks ago during our shoot.  I love how these photos turned out.  Enjoy!

Gorgeous Mama!  This is my favorite.

Rachel, you’re stunning!

Rachel and Andrew, I had such fun capturing this amazing time in your lives, and I can’t wait to meet your sweet little bundle very soon!

Love,

miss g

I am finally returning to my blog, after quite a hiatus.  But the hiatus was for good reason:  January 17, Ryan and I welcomed our much-anticipated third baby, a girl, who we named Vivienne Kate.  I was extremely surprised, as I was expecting a boy.  I cried and cried tears of joy when the doctor handed her to me.   She was so tiny compared to my boys, and such a content little newborn.  Now she is six weeks old and is still proving to be easy for the most part.  She likes to sleep (though not quite long enough at night for my liking), has smiled at us several times, and her parents and brothers are just smitten with her.  :)

Introducing my sweet little girl…

Daddy and Vivi meeting for the first time.

So tiny.

It was much harder shooting newborn photos of my own baby than shooting them for my clients…but of course, I still managed to get some!

Yes, I have a thing for newborn feet…they are just so adorable!

I am sure there will be more to come!

Maybe it is because I am anticipating the arrival of my third baby in a couple of months and a new niece OR nephew sometime this month, but this newborn session was such a joy for me…I loved holding this tiny, sweet little girl and hanging out with her awesome parents (I went to college with her dad!).  She arrived early, and though she was three weeks old for this shoot, she was still so tiny.  Everything about this shoot was great, and I am so excited to share these sneak peeks with her parents!

So cozy!

This girl has some cool parents who definitely adore her!  :)

Don’t miss the bloomers.  Precious!

Love these shots of mom & dad taking in their little girl…

One final close up.  Perfection.

Zach and Francine, I can’t wait for you to see the entire collection – very soon!

Love,

miss g

This fun family is special to me: Ryan and I have been friends with Jimmy, the dad, since college.  We were friends then, and somehow we all ended up in Denver despite mid-western roots.  Ry and I were at the party Jimmy and Amanda, his wife, went to on their first date, and I remember liking her immediately.  We enjoyed their mountain wedding a few years ago.  Now, years later, they are parents to one ADORABLE little guy who completely rocked this photo shoot.  I was impressed by his big, abundant smiles and sweet demeanor.  I am so happy for them and loved so many of their photos that I had to do a few story boards to incorporate more of them into my blog!

How much fun are they?!

Can you say “gorgeous?”  Love this one – even the sweet doggie cooperated!

This is one handsome little guy – I can’t get enough of those blue eyes and big smiles!

I know I’ve already mentioned how fun they are, but here are a couple more examples – this little guy is in for some good times!

Finally, I had to show these sweet daddy/son moments…great times!

Jimmy and Amanda, thanks so much for the honor of capturing your beautiful family in photos.  It was such fun!

sweet siblings

When the mom of these three adorable kids contacted me for photos, I was so excited.  We’ve known them for a few years now, and they are all just beautiful.  They recently added a third baby – a boy – to the family, and he is well-loved by his two big sisters!  I had a blast with them recently, as you can see below.  Enjoy!

The girls started out by showing me their play room – which had some lovely light.

Here is the oldest telling me about her favorite toys.  I love those lashes!

Gorgeous little sister was curious about my camera!  Those eyes are stunning.

More lovely lashes…

Look at this guy – he could not be any cuter!

I had to do a story board of each child because there were just too many fun shots!  Here is the little charmer.

This girl is simply adorable!

Beautiful and sweet oldest sister…

These photos below totally crack me up – you never know what you’re going to get with three little ones! (Don’t worry, mom, we did get some of them all looking at the camera – this just made me laugh!)

Sweet sister moments!

What a fun session!  I am so thankful that I get to spend my work time with people like them!

Love,

miss g

It’s that time of the year…

September 17, 2010

Can you believe that it’s time to be thinking about photo sessions with Christmas/Holiday cards in mind?  I can’t either.  But I wanted to do a quick post to let you know that if you had photos in mind for cards, you need to book soon.  My free dates are quickly filling up, and I have heard from many people who say they’d like to book.  My time is very limited, so check out your calendar and give me a call!  I am offering discounted sessions (that means $150 during the week; $200 on weekends) and a $35 print credit (which can go towards cards or whatever you’d like) from October 15 through 30 ONLY.  Starting in November, I will be booking sessions on a VERY limited basis, with the hopes of starting my maternity leave at the beginning of December.

The cards I offer, by the way, are so beautiful!  I offer a variety of different choices (from very modern and chic to a more traditional style) and they are completely custom!  You can change the wording, colors, fonts, etc.   They come in packs of 25 with envelopes.  I am happy to show some of my 2010 card options.  Below, you can see just a couple of the cards that I made for 2009 (yes, they are actual cards the clients used).  They are press printed on beautiful linen or pearl paper – I got so many compliments on them last year!

This is the front of the card (this is a 5×7 inch flat card)

…and this is the back!

This one below is the front of a 5×7 greeting card style (it opens up and has a “spread” in the middle).

When you open it, it has this image below as the TOP of the spread:

…and this shown below was the bottom of the inside spread:

…and shown below is the back of the card.

I’ll look forward to hearing from you to schedule your sessions!

Love,

miss g
